N2 - The fourth chapter of this evidence review explores the regulatory framework that governs children's residential social care.

This series of publications explores key issues identified by strategic planners, policy-makers and practitioners. It provides insights into current debates, research findings, practice developments and user experiences to inform the development of the residential children’s care sector. The series will be of particular interest to strategic leaders, commissioners and decision makers in children’s social care. The rate of change is particularly fast paced in this area of work so in order to be as responsive as possible we will release each individual think piece separately before releasing them together as a larger publication.

The five chapters of this review explores key issues identified by strategic leaders, policy-makers and practitioners. It provides insights into current debates, research findings, practice developments and user experiences to inform the development of the residential children’s care sector.

Because the rate of change is particularly fast paced in this area of work, each chapter has been released separately over a number of months in order to be as responsive as possible. We have now brought together all five chapters as a larger publication. Each chapter can be read as a stand-alone think piece, as well as being read alongside other chapters.
