This workshop will discuss different definitions of poverty and ways of measuring poverty, considering who is most impacted and looking at the various intersections between different aspects of identity, class and income on the effects of poverty. Participants will reflect these issues at multiple levels of context, including organisationally and structurally, as well as at an individual practitioner level.
This interactive session will share learning from research, practice and lived experience along with practice implications for adult social care.

- Understand the intersectional factors which may increase risks around poverty and safeguarding adults.
- Develop confidence in talking about poverty with adults drawing upon care and support.
- Outline practice responses which uphold dignity, human rights and equity in relation to poverty and safeguarding adults.
